Message from Brenda Hernandez, Director of the Finance Department:
Welcome to the Budget and Finance Section. The Finance Director’s responsibilities include direct supervision of the Finance/Human Resources, Municipal Court, and the Customer Service Departments for the City. The three departments consist of eight employees combined.
The Finance Department is also responsible for administering the City’s financial plan, as well as developing and implementing the financial policies of the City and the accounting records of all City funds. The Finance Department is responsible for the preparation of the Annual Financial Report, treasury functions, accounts payable, human resources, fixed assets, and risk management. The Finance Department prepares the Annual Budget under the direction of the City Manager and enforces budgetary compliance during the fiscal year.
Beginning in fiscal year 2022-2023, the City launched a Digital Budget Book. This online budget tool allows citizens of Woodway to review detailed financial data, fund summaries, funding sources, departmental budgets and more. Use the link below to access the digital budget book.
