Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be a police officer or firefighter? Everyone at some point, whether it was when we were children or when watching Crime TV, has fantasized about fighting crime and saving the day!
This is where the Woodway Public Safety Citizen’s Police Academy comes in. Be a detective and learn how to locate and lift a suspect’s fingerprints or be a patrol officer and learn how to conduct traffic stops and high-risk felony stops. Lastly, don’t forget your bunker gear, because those glowing red lights are not just coming from your patrol car. Learn the functions of a Woodway firefighter, ride the fire trucks, and even hit the obstacle course if you choose.
The Woodway Public Safety Citizens Police Academy is an extremely low-pressure environment. The academy is offered once a week for 11 weeks, running from February through May. It will immerse the participants in the daily activities associated with policing and firefighting.
