The Woodway Public Safety Department proudly hosts its annual Cops & Kids Trick-or-Treat Drive-Through, a signature event that combines Halloween fun with community engagement. This family-friendly experience is designed to create a safe and festive environment while fostering positive interactions between public safety officials and residents.
The event showcases themed tents representing the various divisions of the city and public safety departments, including the Special Response Team (SRT), K-9 Unit, Patrol Division, Fire Department, City Hall, Youth Commission, and the Woodway Family Center. Each tent is creatively decorated with costumes and festive themes, adding excitement and visual appeal for attendees.
Families remain in their vehicles and follow a designated route through the event. At each tent, officers and city staff approach the car to hand out candy and interact directly with families, creating a welcoming and engaging experience.
This annual tradition has quickly become a highlight of the Halloween season in Woodway. It not only provides a fun and memorable activity for families, but also serves as an opportunity for the community to connect with the public safety personnel and learn more about their roles in serving the city. The event continues to grow each year, with plans for ongoing improvements to make it even more impactful and enjoyable for all.
